Here is some information about the Portsmouth Trojans record vs. schools from Columbus, Cincinnati, and Dayton:

Columbus: PHS has a 79-32 record overall, with a 15-5 record vs. Columbus East. Portsmouth swept Marion-Franklin 4 straight years in the early 80's, and beat Columbus Mifflin in the 1978 regional semifinals at Athens. The Trojans defeated Columbus East 62-61 on a last second buzzer beater by Eugene Collins in 1983. The 1984 team went 7-0 vs. Columbus schools, while the 1988 D2 state champion Trojans defeated 1988 D1 state runnerup Linden McKinley 88-66 in the regular season. PHS scored 100 points vs. Mifflin in the same year at the Wendy's Classic. In 1990, PHS went 6-0 vs. Columbus schools, including scoring 107 points vs. Columbus East and Marion-Franklin. In 1991, the Trojans once again went unblemished vs. Columbus schools, including an 86-85 win at Walnut Ridge. Columbus Brookhaven beat Portsmouth 92-49 in 2012-2013, which was the first game between PHS and Columbus City League schools since Columbus Independence beat the Trojans back to back in early 2000's. 

March 21, 2015: Portsmouth lost to Columbus Eastmoor Academy 49-45 in the D3 regional final in Athens. The series standing has been updated. On December 21, 2015, Columbus Africentric beat Portsmouth 57-50 in the Ironton Classic. The series standing has been updated. Update 1/16/24: PHS beat Columbus Linden McKinley 62-47. Cincinnati: PHS has a 23-12 record overall, with the last meeting being an 81-55 win over Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy in 2011-2012. the 1931 State Champion Trojans beat Walnut Hills 32-12. PHS beat Forest Park 90-80 in 2OT in the 1988 regional finals, but lost to Cincinnati Hughes 56-54 in the 1955 regional finals on a tip-in at the buzzer. The 1950 district champion Trojans beat Cincinnati Elder 55-34. In 1969, Portsmouth handed Cincinnati Withrow its first loss of the season with a 66-64 win. In 1970-71, PHS swept Courter Tech. In 1982, the Trojans beat Cincinnati Hughes, and in 1988 beat Cincinnati Moeller 73-62 in the regular season. The 1989 team also handled Moeller, this time by a 69-66 count. Moeller did beat the 1984 Trojans, which was one of only 3 losses in the regular season for PHS.

Dayton: The Trojans hold a 21-11 advantage overall, with several of those games being on the biggest stage........the OHSAA state championships. In 1934, Dayton Roosevelt beat the Trojans 46-30 in the Class AA state championship game, while Dayton Fairview ended the Trojans 1939 season with a win in the Sweet 16 state tournament. In 1990, Dayton Colonel White beat PHS in the D2 state championship game 71-57. Portsmouth captured a huge win vs. Dayton Dunbar in 1987 with a 62-61 win. Dunbar won the Class AAA state title that year. In the 1988 regional semifinals at UD Arena, Portsmouth beat perennial power Kettering Alter 76-68. In 1989, the Trojans beat Dayton Meadowdale with star Jamie Skelton (Ohio State) 85-79. PHS got payback on Colonel White in 1991 with a 92-67 win. The 1994 Trojans beat Dayton Patterson 73-63, while the 2001 district championship team beat Huber Heights Wayne 60-58.
