Here is some info on the Trojans state tournament teams of 1941, 1961, and 1978:

1941
Record: 16-5   Coach: Peg Ellcesser
Notable wins: Marietta, Akron North, Dayton Roosevelt, Sciotoville, Chillicothe, Ironton, Springfield, Zanesville
Top players: Joe Babcock, Sparky Echols
State tournament result: Lost to Lakewood in the first round of the Sweet 16 (1941 would be the last PHS appearance in the Sweet 16 state tournament)

1961
Record: 22-3  Coach: George Heller
Notable wins: Won GOL title (Middletown, Lima, Hamilton, Springfield), Chillicothe, Ironton twice, Logan, Lancaster
Top players: Mike Haley, Clem Hartley, Dozier Carter, Dick Spencer, Rudy Shively
State tournament result: Beat Elyria 54-52 in state semifinals, beat Urbana 50-44 for the state championship

1978
Record: 19-7  Coach: Richard "Dick" Hopkins

State tournament result: Beat Ottawa-Glandorf 59-43 in state semifinals, beat Cleveland Cathedral Latin 63-62 for the state championship
Special note: Jeff Lisath's 40 points total in the 2 state tournament games is the highest total for any Trojan in state tournament play. Teammate Craig Tubbs tallied 39 total points, good for 2nd place.
