The last time Portsmouth allowed an opponent to score 100 or more points was in 1996, when Ironton beat the Trojans 108-60. In 1994, Chillicothe beat PHS 101-60. Going back to the 1956 tournament, Middletown defeated Portsmouth 102-82 in the regional semifinals. The Middies went on to win the state title that year with an undefeated record.

The 1991 Trojans may have been the highest scoring PHS team ever, averaging 83.7 PPG, while the 1990 team was close behind, coming in at 80.1 PPG.
