1931: 20-2.......Second 20 win season in PHS history; won Class AA (big school) state championship, beating Canton McKinley 20-19 OT
1932: 13-6
1933: 10-12.....First losing season since 1921; only losing season in Coach Red Hopkins' PHS career (1926-1936)
1934: 20-5.......Third 20 win season in PHS history; Trojans finish state runnerup to Dayton Roosevelt in big school class AA
1935: 16-6
1936: 13-7.......Coach Red Hopkins' last season at coach (overall record 174-58, 5 state appearances)
1937: 8-2.........Season cut short by historic Ohio River flood
1938: 13-5
1939: 15-7.......Portsmouth advances to state tournament under coach Paul Jenkins; lost to Dayton Fairview in first round of the Sweet 16
