The 2023-24 Lady Trojans became the 1st Portsmouth girls basketball team to make the Final 4. PHS tied for the OVC title with Fairland posting a 13-1 conference mark, and rolled through the sectional, district, and regional tournaments without being seriously challenged. The closest game in the tournament up to the Final 4 was a 42-25 win over North Adams in the regional final at Logan HS.

In the Final 4 game vs. Ottawa-Glandorf, the Lady Trojans struggled offensively for 3 quarters, scoring only 17 points total. PHS then rallied from a double digit deficit in the 4th period to cut the OG lead to 37-32. But that was as close as they would come, as the final score was 47-40 in favor of OG. The Lady Trojans scored 23 points in that final 8 minutes. PHS finished with a 22-6 record.

Sophomore Sienna Allen scored 12 points to lead PHS, while junior Daysha Reid scored 10. The Lady Trojans return all 5 starters and 8 of 9 players for the 2024-25 season.
