Portsmouth Trojans' End of the Season Facts and Figures 2021-22 Season

Here is a summary of the 2021-22 season for the Portsmouth Trojans:

1. Portsmouth finished the 2021-22 season with an all time record of 1,487--816.
2. Coach Eugene Collins is now 192-116 in his 13 year career at PHS.
3. Portsmouth's 11-11 record is only the 2nd time in school history to post that mark (1967).
4. Junior Kenny Sanderlin led the team in rebounds, assists, steals, and was 2nd in scoring (16.2)
5. Portsmouth finished 6th in the OVC with a 6-8 record.
6. The Trojans went 2-5 at home in the OVC, and 4-3 on the road.
7. Portsmouth has now lost 15 games in a row to Fairland.
8. Portsmouth has now lost 8 games in a row to Ironton.
9. Portsmouth beat Wheelersburg snapping a 4 year losing streak to the Pirates.
10. PHS's 11-11 record ended a 3 year streak of losing seasons.
11. Only Fairland and Ironton have a winning record vs. PHS in the 8 years of OVC play.
12. This PHS team was the highest scoring team since joining the OVC in 2015 (66 PPG).
13. The fewest points PHS scored this season in a game was 54 (3 times).
14. South Point has now eliminated the Trojans in tournament play in 2017 and 2022.
15. Portsmouth has not advanced out of the sectional tournament 5 years in row.
16. PHS is now 2-0 at home in sectional tournament openers (Belpre in 2021, Nelsonville-York in 2022).
17. Daryionne Bryant led the Trojans in scoring (17.1).
