After doing the research on Phil Whitehead, who played for the Trojans from 1988-1991, he has officially joined the 1,000 point club at PHS. Whitehead scored 1,027 points in his career. He still managed to join the coveted 1,000 point mark despite missing several games his senior year due to injury. He needed 329 points his final season to reach 1,000. His high game was 30 vs. Boyd County. He played on the 1988 D2 state championship team, and he reached the D2 state championship game in 1990 as the Trojans lost to Dayton Colonel White 71-57. During his last 3 years as a starter, the Trojans compiled an amazing record of 67-10, surpassing the 3 year mark of 65-12 during Patrick Tubbs' 3 year career as a starter. Whitehead is now the 11th leading scorer in PHS history, just behind Damond Mannon, who scored 1,057 for his career from 1990-1992.
