Trojan Senior Matthew Fraulini Is Now Tied for 8th Leading Scorer (tied) in PHS History Updated 3/29/24

Portsmouth Trojan senior Matthew Fraulini is now the 7th leading scorer (tied) in PHS history. He scored 8 points vs. Eastern Brown in the Waverly sectional tournament and now has 1,096 points. The 6-2 Fraulini has already established a new single game scoring record with his 46 point performance vs. Rock Hill last season. Despite being double teamed at times last season, Fraulini still averaged a very respectable 17 PPG, with a number of games well over 20. 

The all time leading scorer in Trojan basketball history is Kyre Allison, a 2016 graduate who scored 1,688 points, with 1979 graduate and 1978 Class AA State Champion Craig Tubbs scoring a total of 1,485. 1965 First Team All American Larry Hisle is 3rd with 1,375, with 2017 graduate Kendal Reynolds coming in 4th with 1,341. 1978 State Champion Trojan Jeff Lisath is 6th all time with 1,256 points. 2012 graduates and D3 state runnerup Dion McKinley and Wayne Evans are tied for 6th with 1,096 points each. 10th is 1992 graduate and 1990 D2 state runnerup Damond Mannon with 1,057 points. UPDATE 3/31/2020: Patrick Tubbs is 5th with 1,297 points, with Phil Whitehead 11th with 1,027 points.

Update on 12/11.......Fraulini is now 238  points short of 1,000. He scored 20 vs. Piketon, and 22 vs. South Point. Updates will be included when scoring stats are available.
Update on 12/12......Fraulini is now 218 points short, after scoring 20 vs. Huntington St.Joe.
Update on 12/14......Fraulini scored only 3 points vs. Chesapeake. Now 215 points shy of 1,000.
Update on 12/18......Fraulini scored 9 points vs. Fairland. Now 206 points shy of 1,000.
Update on 12/23......Fraulini scored 13 points vs. Portsmouth West.......now 193 points shy of 1,000.
Update on 12/28......Fraulini scored 34 points vs. Wade Christian Academy (FL) at KSA tournament in Orlando, FL. Now 159 points short.
Update on 12/31......Fraulini scored 34, 22, and 13 points in the 3 games at the KSA.........he is now just 90 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/4/20....Fraulini scored 23 points vs. Rock Hill, and is now only 67 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/8/20....Fraulini scored 18 points vs. GAHS, and is now only 49 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/11/20..Fraulini scored 7 points vs. Ironton, and is now only 42 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/15/20..Fraulini scored 23 points vs. Coal Grove, and is now officially 60 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/18/20..Fraulini scored 4 points vs. South Point and is now 56 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/21/20..Fraulini scored 8 points vs. Wheelersburg and is now 48 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/22/20: Fraulini scored 21 points vs. Chesapeake and is now 27 points short of 1,000.
Update on 1/25/20: Fraulini scored 26 points vs. Fairland and is now 1 point short of 1,000.
Update on 1/29/20: Fraulini scored 19 points vs. Rock Hill and is now the 9th leading scorer in PHS history with 1,018 points.
Update on 2/4/20:   Fraulini scored 27 points vs. Gallia Academy and now has 1,045 points, 12 behind Damond Mannon's 1,057.
Update on 2/13/20: Fraulini scored 8 points vs. Ironton has now has 1,053 points.
Update on 2/15/20: Fraulini scored 27 points vs. Coal Grove and now has 1,080 points. He is now the 9th leading scorer in PHS history, passing Damond Mannon (1,057) and is 17 points away from 7th place (Dion McKinley and Wayne Evans both have 1,096).

Fraulini's final total is 1,096, tying him with Dion McKinley and Wayne Evans for 8th all time.
Update on 2/18/20: Fraulini scored 8 points vs. Western Pike in sectional tournament first round and now has 1,088 points.
Update on 2/24/20: Fraulini scored 8 points vs. Eastern Brown and his final career total is 1,096, tied with Dion McKinley and Wayne Evans.
